Paleo Information & Education

For those of you new to the Paleo lifestyle, you probably have a lot of questions or maybe you stumbled across this blog in search of recipes and are asking yourself “what the hell is Paleo?”  Since my focus is a Paleo food blog, I am not going to go into great detail on the science, health information or premise of Paleo.  I am leaving that up to the experts since they can explain it better than I ever could.  Here is a list of the following Paleo gurus that can shed some light and intellectual wisdom on the Paleo lifestyle.

Mark Sisson- http://www.marksdailyapple.com/#axzz1o4Qf8pBy

What is Mark Sisson’s health philosophy?

“Really, my health philosophy is surprisingly simple. I follow a diet based on an understanding of evolutionary science. I think it’s more important to eat, move, and live according to how humans are designed and not according to society’s artificial developments of the last 100 years. Fortunately, this regimen is not only incredibly healthy, it’s quite simple.”

“In a nutshell:”
- fresh, organic, unprocessed food – no junk!
- daily activity – whether it’s the gym or a walk along the beach, it all counts
- plenty of quality sleep
- plenty of water, no soda or sweetened drinks
- antioxidants galore – the key to limiting stress
- a good fish-oil supplement
- lots of essential fats, reckless amounts of vegetables, and clean protein
- time for fun – don’t take anything too seriously – ethical behavior – because what goes around comes around
- taking responsibility for yourself and your life – openness to new things and ideas

Sarah Fragoso- http://everydaypaleo.com/

“My Paleo Journey began in February of 2008 when I had hit rock bottom as far as my health was concerned. After the birth of my third little boy, Rowan, I was overweight and suffered from several minor but annoying health issues from constant painful swelling in my legs to depression. I began to work out at Norcal Strength and Conditioning and after learning about Paleo from Robb Wolf and Nicki Violetti, my paleo journey began! I found it difficult at first to manage my new found path to health, take care of my family, AND try to find time for me, but with a bit of re-prioritizing and an awesome support network, Paleo is no longer a diet for me but a lifestyle.”
